Personalized affirmation engine
Generate five believable affirmations for your intention in the tone and language you choose, then edit, save, schedule and listen.
Steps
- Enter or choose your intention.
- Pick tone, length and language.
- Review five options and their labels.
- Edit, save, favourite, schedule or listen.
Background
Self-affirmation research (e.g. Cohen & Sherman, 2014) suggests that reflecting on personal values can help some people under stress; overly grand statements can backfire for people with low self-esteem (Wood et al., 2009). The engine therefore favours process-focused, present-tense and self-compassionate wording and labels each option.
Limitations
- Affirmations support focus and mood; they do not guarantee results and are not a substitute for professional care.
